Flickering Flame Runeword – Diablo 2 Resurrected

Blizzard is bringing a lot of new changes to Diablo 2 Resurrected with the announcements of new Runewords coming in Patch 2.4. They have been utilizing content creators throughout the month of January to release one new Runeword to their audience at a time.

The newest Runeword coming to Diablo 2 Resurrected is called Flickering Flame and was announced by a Korean creator named Hanryang1125 on Twitch. While Blizzard mentioned previously that the intent of new Runewords is to add diversity to various builds and offer more options during the mid-game, Flickering Flame is fairly expensive and looks to be utilized in the late game.

How to make Flickering Flame Runeword in Diablo 2 Resurrected

Flickering Flame is a Runeword made out of a 3 socketed helmet that require a Nef, Pul, and Vex Runes. While the demonstration used to announce this Runeword was done in a Diadem, it can be crafted in any white base helmet with 3 sockets.

In order to craft Flickering Flame, input your runes into your base helmet in the following order:

  1. Nef
  2. Pul
  3. Vex

What class benefits from Flickering Flame Runeword

While most people might instantly assume the Flickering Flame Runeword is going to be viable on a Fire Sorceress, it’s going to be hard to compete against a Shako. There are many other options beyond that, though.

Flickering Flame could be a great helmet for a mercenary due to it’s Resist Fire aura, which would apply to everyone in the party within a certain radius. The resistances also works to minions in your party, meaning any summons from a Necromancer or Druid would get the resistance bonus.

This Runeword could also be an exceptional choice for a Fire Druid if it’s made in a good pelt base that offers other skills to druid abilities.
